Since 2018, the Fremont Noon Kiwanis Club has been working to raise funds intended for playground equipment for Johnson Meadow in Fremont. The Kiwanis group caused the city and the Pals of Area Fremont Parks to discover the location.

The project was made to provide a playground on the east side of the city — home to a good number of schools and set for significant growth in the next few years.

Designed for youngsters ages ONLY TWO to 12, the playground will be inclusive — meaning children of all abilities can use it.

It will include features that children in wheelchairs is able to access. A merry-go-round, which is low to the ground, will be accessible to all or any children. The area will have got a special surface that’s easy to walk and use a wheelchair on.

The brightly hued equipment includes slides, covered locations, bridges and ramps.

Children can walk up and play with a few of the equipment’s interactive features. There will be pieces with colors and exercise routine that incorporate math.

There are going to be a small, cement path which children can ride their cycles.

In addition, the playground carries a section for younger children age groups 2 to 5.

Individuals, clubs, businesses, corporations — or any benevolent donor is invited to help contribute toward the project.

To donate, go to the Fremont Community Community Foundation website at: facfoundation. org/splashstationplayground. web coding or send a check to help: Stacy at Friends of the Fremont Area Parks, Playground Account, First State Bank & Believe in, 1005 E. 23 St.,Fremont NE 68025.
