Yokohama off-highway tire brand Galaxy has released two new variants of its E4 and L4 tires. First launched in 2019 and designed for mining operations, the Galaxy HTSR 400 (E4/L4) is now available in two new variants featuring either cut-resistant or heat-resistant compounds. Depending on individual operational demands, customers can now choose between standard, cut-resistant or heat-resistant compounds in three different sizes. To get more news about off road tires, you can visit gofortunetire.com official website.

The tires are designed for articulated dump trucks and wheel loaders operating with heavy loads in extreme working environments. Galaxy states that every tire in the range features a robust all-steel radial construction, as well as a belt and a sidewall protector. According to the company, a deep tread pattern with an open-channel tread design and optimum lug-to-void ratio was chosen to ensure excellent traction, enhanced self-cleaning characteristics and long tire life.
The new heat-resistant compound is specifically formulated to avoid tire overheating in high-speed, long-haul applications that require the ability to operate with heavy loads over longer distances and longer operating hours.

Alternatively, customers can opt for a compound with superior cut and chip protection needed for uneven, sharp-edged and aggressive terrains like abrasive rock quarries. Moreover, Galaxy notes that the cut-resistant compound ensures low tire wear, greater durability and longer tire life.

Meanwhile, the standard compound version of the tire is an optimized solution between the cut- and heat-resistant versions and can operate in all working conditions.

“By adding the two new variants – cut resistant and heat resistant – to the HTSR 400 tire range, we make sure that owners and operators of heavy-duty machines on construction sites, in mining operations and comparable working environments can make the best choice and get the best performance – application specific and customized to their individual needs – and with minimum downtime,” said Pravin Job, head of sales, Western Europe for Galaxy brand (part of Yokohama Off-Highway Tires).

Michelin North America has also launched its next-generation on-/off-road drive tire, which it claims is optimized to provide exceptional traction, toughness and wear performance. The tire is designed for the construction, energy, concrete and logging sectors operating in mixed-use conditions.

“Vehicles working in off-road conditions encounter rock, gravel, mud, debris and other demanding conditions but still have to meet critical deadlines. Safety is key and downtime is costly,” said Justin Brock, manager for construction on Michelin’s Beyond Road business line. “We started the design process of this tire with the customer. We not only gathered insights but also put the tires to the test on fleets using it in some of the most demanding environments. Therefore, we are confident the X Works D tire is designed to meet these challenges and we stand behind it with our six-month Road Hazard Guarantee.”

The company notes that the tires feature a full-tread-depth lateral groove tread pattern to provide a balance between stability for increased wear and improved rubber-to-void ratio for maximum traction. Additionally, teardrop sipes open as they wear, providing additional traction.

Reinforcement is provided by four steel belts at the crown of the tire to protect from shock, impact and road hazards for enhanced durability and puncture resistance. Finally, stone ejectors and teardrop sipes incorporated around the center block fight stone retention and drilling.
